By Car
Directions from the A9 to Carn Mhor (heading
north)
Heading from north: Take the turn-off signed
Aviemore from the A9 Inverness-Perth road at Lynwilg and then turn
left at the junction onto the B9152. Follow the B9152 into Aviemore.
Continue to head north along the main road (Grampian Road) through
Aviemore past Tesco (on left), the village hall, ambulance and fire
station (on right) to the far end of the village (approx one mile
from entrance markers to village). The track (not a Tarmac road) is
marked by a green sign with the name Carn Mhor B&B and is on the
last turn-off of the built-up area of Aviemore on the left-hand side
(the turn-off is after a large corner house with a conservatory). On
your right hand side driving up the track there is a large horses
field. The track ends at Carn Mhor B&B. There is private parking
available on site.

Heading from south: Turn off the A9
Inverness-Perth road at Granish junction signed Aviemore. Turn right
at the junction onto the B9152 and head towards the village (approx
1.3 miles). Driving past Scottish Natural Heritage's headquarters (Achintoul)
and the horses' field and Carn Mhor is the first turn-off on the
right entering the built-up area of Aviemore. The track to the B&B
is marked with a green sign with the name of the establishment.
Follow the track to the end. There is private parking available on
site.
By Rail
During the day there are through trains from London on the east
coast route via York , Newcastle and Edinburgh , stopping at
Aviemore, and there are always taxis at the station. There are also regular ScotRail services
from both Glasgow and Edinburgh also stopping at Aviemore station.
Overnight, you can relax on the sleeper service from London ,
Crewe , Preston and Carlisle .
By Air
You can fly to Inverness - just three quarters of an hour away, or to Glasgow
or Edinburgh both of which are around 2 hours distant. There are
an ever-increasing number of flights into all 3 airports from many
different parts of the UK & Europe.
Whichever airport you arrive at, hire cars can easily be arranged
for your stay.
By Bus
Citylink Coach services from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Inverness
also stop in Aviemore - connections from the South are frequent
