Around an hour away up the Spey Valley is the fabulous Ballindalloch Castle . This is a stunning building with equally impressive gardens that is both home of the only Lady Laird in Scotland and a working estate rather than a museum piece.

Less than 30 minutes south of us you'll find Blair Castle, another superb building & home to the Earl of Atholl, the only man in Britain allowed to maintain a private army!!

Just south of Nairn, you'll find Cawdor Castle - famous as the haunt of Macbeth in the Shakespeare play of that ilk and fascinating to visit, with lovely gardens too.
